Hubzilla: Bridges

Bridges

Hubzilla can connect to Bluesky using Bridgy Fed.

Instructions

To opt-in to the Bluesky bridge:

  1. Follow bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy on Hubzilla.

That's it. Your channel will now be available as @channel.example.com.ap.brid.gy (if your channel is channel@example.com on Hubzilla).

If you want to use your domain, follow these directions:

  1. Visit the link in the DM you received to view your Bridgy Fed profile. Bookmark it or save it for late.
  2. Click on the tag symbol next to your Bluesky username. This will copy your DID, which you will need for the next step.
  3. Create a TXT entry in your DNS with the following information. Each channel will need its own entry. This one is for channel@example.com.
    • TXT
    • _atproto.channel.example.com
    • did=did:plc:[your value here]
  4. Test it at https://bsky-debug.app/handle
  5. Send a DM to @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy with username channel.example.com
    • (replacing channel.example.com with your username)
  6. View your Bridgy Fed profile again to make sure it has been updated.

After following these steps, your account will be available as @channel.example.com on Bluesky and channel@example.com on Hubzilla & ActivityPub, and @channel@example.com on Mastodon.

There are other ways to do it. See the documentation below for more details.
